You will be given a controversial statement. You have 2 minutes to prepare your response, then up to 75 seconds to speak. After your recording, you will receive structured B2-level feedback.
Structure your spoken response in this order:
- State your opinion clearly at the start — do you agree, disagree, or partly agree? Use phrases like I strongly believe that…, I agree to some extent because…, I completely disagree with this statement because…
- Give 2–3 arguments supporting your view. Back each one up with a reason or example.
- Acknowledge the other side briefly — use On the other hand…, Admittedly…, Some people argue that…
- Conclude with a summary — use Overall…, To sum up…, In conclusion…
Use B2 linking devices: Firstly, Furthermore, Apart from that, However, As a result, Therefore, Nevertheless. Avoid repeating basic words like good, bad, nice — use beneficial, harmful, significant, controversial instead.
